Mona White received her Bachelor’s (92) and Master’s (93) degrees as a Meadow’s Scholar from the University of North Texas with an emphasis in reading. After teaching 3rd grade and Spanish in Lewisville ISD, Mona went on to work for Prentice Hall in textbook sales and teacher training. After the birth of her first son, Mona returned to UNT and obtained her educational diagnostician and special education certifications and began contract testing for local school districts in 2003. She spent several years contracting with various districts such as Little Elm, Lake Dallas, Weatherford, Northwest, Denton County Coop, and Denton. Mona also worked with charter and private schools such as Responsive Ed., Liberty Christian, Denton Calvary Academy, and Jean Massieu Academy for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. While testing for school districts, Mona was also able to work as a field examiner for Harcourt Assessment to develop the following test batteries: NEPSY 2, Wechsler EASI, First Step 2, WIAT III, Delis Brief. She then began working with the Dyslexia Department with Denton ISD in 2007 and took the position as the dedicated diagnostician for the department in 2011. She served as their lead diagnostician from 2011 until opening her practice with Stacey Cox in 2020. Mona currently holds four Texas certifications: Reading, General Education, Special Education, and Educational Diagnostician. She most recently received her Strong® Interest Inventory Career Assessment Certification from the Myers-Briggs® Company, which enables her to help a wide range of individuals from high school students deciding on a college major to adults re-entering the workplace, find their best and clearest path to their future. Mona is also an ICD-ADHD Specialist with training in identifying and providing support for individuals with ADHD. When she is not working with clients, Mona loves traveling with her husband of 25+ years and visiting their two sons at A&M in College Station.
Stacey earned her bachelor's degree from Texas Woman's University with a focus on Early Childhood - 4th grade general education and holds a Master's of Education Degree in Special Education from UT Tyler. Stacey worked for Denton ISD from 2004-2017. She has taught 2nd grade, 1st grade, English as a Second Language, and inclusion. After teaching in the classroom for the first five years, she was trained through Texas Scottish Rite Hospital as a Dyslexia Therapist. She began serving Denton ISD students with dyslexia for the next eight years. After earning her diagnostician certification in 2017, Stacey started working for several private practices in the metroplex and contracting with the Denton ISD Dyslexia Department and the Denton County Special Education Cooperative as an educational diagnostician. Having provided intervention programs and assessments for learning-disabled students of all ages in public schools and private practice for over 19 years, Stacey has extensive knowledge of research-based assessment tools and identification criteria of learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. She is trained in and has implemented Orton Gillingham-based programs, including Take Flight, Pre-Flight, Rite Flight, MTA, and Alphabetic Phonics. Stacey holds state certifications in general education (EC-4 and 4-8), English as a Second Language (EC-8), Educational Diagnostician, ICD Level II ADHD Specialist, and Academic Language Therapist (CALT). Her experience brings an understanding of various intervention programs that allows her to recommend specialized instruction plans and appropriate accommodations needed for individuals to maximize their learning potential in both classroom and work settings.
When not serving clients, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with family and friends, and attending sporting events.
Mona and Stacey share their love for and experiences of helping learners of all ages through identifying Dyslexia, ADHD, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Learning Disabilities, as well as helping students going off to college identify their major or people find the right career fit through our college major or career assessment!

Chapter 239. Student Services Certificates Subchapter C.
Educational Diagnostician Certificate Statutory Authority: The provisions of this Subchapter C issued under the Texas Education Code, §21.031(a) and §21.041(a) and (b)(1)-(4), unless otherwise note
The holder of the Educational Diagnostician Certificate issued under the provisions of this subchapter may serve as an educational diagnostician, including providing educational assessment and evaluation, as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) or other applicable law, for students from birth through adulthood.

(2) The educational diagnostician is able to:
(G) assess and interpret information using formal/informal instruments and procedures in the areas of cognitive/adaptive behavior and academic skills;
(H) determine the need for further assessment in the areas of language skills, physical skills, social/emotional behavior, and assistive technology.
(I) determine a student's needs in various curricular areas and make intervention, instructional, and transition planning recommendations based on assessment and evaluation results;
(J) make recommendations based on assessment and evaluation results;
(K) prepare assessment reports; and
(L) use performance data and information from teachers, other professionals, individuals with disabilities, and parents/guardians to make or suggest appropriate modifications and/or accommodations within learning environments.
